Continuing Education

In the biotech business, changes occur with rapid speed. To remain competitive, there is a continuous need for professionals to be trained in the most recent technologies and research developments. 

As a result, the Fermentation Based Biomanufacturing Initiative is developing a flexible Continuing Education program, with online and hands-on courses.
These courses are directed towards professionals, e.g. individuals working in the fermentation industry, wishing to strengthen their professional skills in fermentation, or to keep up with new developments. 
Additionally, courses for professionals with other biotechnological or chemical engineering specializations will be offered, to facilitate the transition from their fields to the fermentation industry.
 
Courses will be offered on a regular basis in, e.g.:
•  Fermentation processing 
•  The cell factory - and how to prepare it for fermentation 
•  Up-scaling from micro-scale to full-scale
•  Downstream processing - from unit operations to maintenance of biological activity
 
Currently, the continuing education courses are under development. The first courses are expected to run in Spring 2020.
These courses will allow the participants to integrate their professional expertise into the courses, update it with the latest technologies and prepare for future tasks like e.g., introduction of a new production organism, introduction of a new type of processing equipment, or sensor technology, downstream processing, or modeling.
 
Customized courses are developed for and with industry clients or partners who have needs for specialized training.
